It was an honour and a privilege last week to have the NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro visit Dubbo for the official opening of the Royal Flying Doctor Service Visitor Experience.

And to say the DP was amazed by the facility would be an understatement. The NSW Government was among a long list of generous organisations that combined to make the dream of the visitor experience a reality.
We moved on to the Old Dubbo Gaol where the Deputy Premier and I announced more than $10 million of funding for Dubbo Regional Council.
This funding is to work on three additional tourism projects, including an amazing plaza area at the entrance to the gaol. A Wiradjuri Experience and the creation of an outdoor events area at Ollie Robbins Oval.
Ministerial visit
On Friday the Minister for Families, Communities and Disability Services, The Hon Gareth Ward, visited Dubbo for a series of meetings and events. We listened as the wonderful team from Marathon Health outlined the success of their Multisystemic Therapy for Child Abuse and Neglect (MST CAN) program. This program and the people delivering it are changing lives and it was wonderful to hear of the amazing outcomes that are being achieved. We also visited staff at the Department of Justice and Communities, where some government plans were outlined.
SAFE WORK MONTH
As part of National Safe Work Month this October, the NSW Government has pledged to rollout a number of new initiatives which aim to protect workers from serious injury or death. Workplace safety is the responsibility of everyone, which is why all workers and employers have a role to play to make sure those who go to work each day also go home to their families afterwards.
