More than 400 motorbike enthusiasts will ride in to Wellington later this month for a special event that aims to shine a light on the importance of road safety.

Two Wheels to Wellington has been running for nine years and aims to emphasise the safety of motorbike riders on Australian roads.
The event is an initiative of the NSW Motorcycle Council and along with the Wellington meet, there will be many more happening over a six week period across the state.
Riders come from across the central west including Mudgee, Bathurst, Parkes, Forbes, Gilgandra and as far as Newcastle.

Organiser of Two Wheels to Wellington, John Jannis, said it was extremely important to get the road safety message across to all road users.
"We're just another voice. It's an avenue we've chosen to push every year through the awareness day," he said.

Mr Jannis said with the warmer weather, more motorcycles will be out on the roads.
Riders will have the chance to meet up with other riders from different clubs at the Two Wheels to Wellington event
Mr Jannis, who himself owns three bikes and rides an R1200 GS , said that it doesn't matter how old you are, your gender, or what type of bike you ride, safety is paramount on Australian roads.

He also added that all motorbikes need to be registered.
"Just make sure you've got a safe machine on the road for you to enjoy and come back home safely," Mr Jannis explained.
The family friendly event is open to all spectators interested in coming along to learn about the importance of road safety.
The Two Wheels to Wellington event will held at Cameron Park from 9am on Sunday, October 20.
