Blackhall and Griffiths will line up in the halves for the Wellington Cowboys and Bathurst Panthers respectively in the Premiers Challenge clash at Kennard Park.
The meeting between the champions of Group 11 and Group 10 will also be one of the last for the pair as country players, with Blackhall set to make the move to Penrith next year while Griffiths, someone already dubbed "the next Cooper Cronk" will make the move to Melbourne to link with the Storm.
Both Blackhall and Griffiths will be vital to their respective sides on Sunday and the pair know each other's games well, having formed a lethal halves combination during the Western Rams' undefeated run to the Johns Cup under 16s title last year.
"It was heaps good playing with him," Blackhall said of Griffiths.
"I really rate him. He'll be the standout on Sunday [for Panthers].
"He just controls things. He takes control of the game and his team. His talk is really good."
While Blackhall has plenty of praise for his former teammate, there's no doubt the young Cowboys star also deserves to be spoken of highly.

Blackhall has been a standout junior in recent years, a regular on the representative scene, but the NSW Country under 18s player has also started to make his impact felt in the senior division this season.
The youngster was given a taste of first grade in Group 11 during the regular season but coach Justin Toomey-White was always careful not to play him too much or put a lot of pressure on the young shoulders.
But the experience he did provide came to the fore late in the year when Blackhall was called back up to the first grade side in place of Steve Gordon.
He played a fine, supporting role in the Cowboys' brilliant preliminary final win over Nyngan and then he delivered with aplomb again in the decider.
Blackhall's kicking game was particularly impressive as Wellington downed Dubbo CYMS and celebrated a first premiership win in a quarter of a century.
The celebrations started immediately after that win but Blackhall said there's been no issue getting the focus back ahead of the Premiers Challenge clash with Panthers.
"We've been ripping in at training," Blackhall said.
"We're taking it pretty seriously because it's Group 10 against Group 11 and the winner gets the bragging rights. You've got to get those bragging rights."
Blackhall said the performance of his forwards, minus unavailable prop Dave Dryden, will again set the tone for his Cowboys on Sunday.
They'll need to be strong as well, given the Panthers are led by wrecking-ball prop Brent Seager.
Seager won a second successive Dave Scott medal for man of the match in a grand final when his side downed Mudgee in an extra-time thriller last weekend to secure back-to-back Group 10 titles.
Panthers were beaten by a Jake Grace-inspired Forbes Magpies in last year's inaugural Premiers Challenge.
Kick-off at Wellington's Kennard Park is 2.30pm on Sunday.
