The event promotes bushfire safety and encourages residents to start planning in case of a bush fire. Residents could also check out the station and truck, have a go on the jumping castle or take home some bushfire information.
"The bushfire period starts at the beginning of next month so now is the time to start preparing," Mr Newberry said.
"We're trying to get people prepared for the bushfire season, we have information on what people can do at their homes to reduce the risk if there is a bushfire."
He recommended people clean out their gutters, move branches away from their home and make sure they have a hose long enough to reach all the way around the house.
"If there is a fire and they need to leave, they need to have a plan to know when they're going to leave and what they're going to take with them," Mr Newberry said.
"We also have information for people who can't prepare their homes, so for elderly and disabled people, there's a number they can call and we'll get people from the RFS to go out to their homes and prepare their property for the bushfire season."
They also have information for farmers on when and when not to burn off and how people can prepare their farms for the bushfire season.
"As we've seen already there are some really big fires happening up north," Mr Newberry said.
"Out the back of Geurie there's a big reserve that has quite a lot of fuel to burn and if a fire does start there, there's a high chance it will impact the village, not directly but through embers blowing over that could affect any house in Geurie. We also want to encourage any new members to reach out to us."
The Get Ready Weekend was held across a number of RFS brigades, including Elong Elong and Minore.
