Wellington Men's Bowls Minor Singles Championship will play its Semi Finals by August 24, first Semi Final sees Caleb Petrovic taking on Garth Watts and in the second Semi-Final Norm Johnston takes on Jason Cornish. Markers for these matches are David Wilson and Jim Hill.
Draw for Round 1 of the Major Singles Championship has been done with the Bowls President over seeing the draw,
Bye versus Norm Johnston, Jim Hill versus David Wilson, Kevin Stanley versus Trevor Messenger, Pat Everingham versus Peter Baker, Garth Watts versus Jason Cornish, John Gersbach versus Caleb Petrovic, Ron Oxenham versus Jayson O'Brien, Parish Petrovic versus Scott Reid.
All these matches are to be played by August 31.
Nominations are still available for the Pairs Champoinship and the Consistentisy Championships with nomination sheets available on the notice board.
Memorial Bowls day is on September 15 with a three bowl triples being played starting at 9am, the cost of the day is $20 which includes lunch, there will also be bacon and egg rolls available from 8am, a nomination sheet is available on the notice board.
Twilight Tuesday night Bowls is starting October 8 with a three bowl Triples being played and running over ten weeks, a fun night is guaranteed, so get your teams ready to play and have a great night out at the Bowling Club.
Wednesdays Social Bowls saw 11 Bowlers hit the greens with plenty of high ambitions, don't forget it's all on again this Wednesday Afternoon with novice bowlers more than welcome to come along and have a great afternoon in the sun, there are bowls available to borrow if you have none, all names to be in by 1pm so a draw can be done.
Last Wednesdays Bowls results saw Jayson O'Brien-Ron Oxenham claim the win on the day for the second week in a row, they defeated Mo Claire-Ray Gersbach by 19 to seven, runners up were Frank Gersbach-Graham Cope they defeated Frank Gersbach-David Wilson by 15 to 13, Don Graham-Norm Johnston drew with the combined team of Glenn Porter-Kevin Stanley-Ian Humphries, final score was 13 each.
The Jackpot was on and it was not won and the Wednesday raffle winner was Cindy Croker.
Darts
Wellingtons Lady Rebel Darters will be out to claim the Ladies Doubles in there Championship which will be played this Saturday at the Wellington Bowling Club.
The Wellington Rebel Darters were on the boards again last Monday night at the Wellington Soldiers Memorial Club. All Darters starting playing round 14 in there singles point score event. The first 180 of the year was hit by Alf Wilson and he did it easily.
After 13 rounds of the pointscore the lead has again changed Jason Cornish leading on 57pts, David Wilson is next on 56pts, Allan Brown is on 41pts, Richard Kent 37pts, Wendy Wilson 30pts, Alf Wilson 24pts, Teena Hill 22pts, Vicki Button 13pts, Hayley Watts 10pts, Kirsty Watts 4pts.
High scores were, Alf Wilson 180, 125, 123, 4x100, 95, 4x85, Jason Cornish 2x140, 126, 125, 2x121, 100, 3x80's, David Wilson 134, 126, 117, 2x100, 3x90's, 80, Richard Kent 133, 120, 2x100, 2x80's, Allan Brown 125, 114, 100, 3x95, 5x80's, Wendy Wilson 3x90's, Teena Hill 98, 84, Hayley Watts 81.
Highest pegs for the men went to Richard Kent with 120 and the Ladies highest peg went to Teena Hill with 88.
Its on again this Monday night from 6.30pm with all new players more than welcome to come along and throw a dart in a night that is not as serious as you think.
