The Wellington Redbacks Rugby Ball will be held on August 31 and is open for all to attend, whether they be sports fans or not.
After a long hiatus, a dedicated group of rugby fans decided to get the ball back up and running in 2016 and to the surprise of organisers was a huge success.
"We thought it was time to revisit the idea of holding one again because the community was lacking that togetherness.. we were a bit unsure of how it would be received," Rugby Ball committee member Abbey Lousick said of the 2016 event.
The committee made 250 tickets available, but as it turns out locals were all for the idea and so they had to up it to 300.
"We're hoping that this year's ball is going to be just as big if not bigger," Ms Lousick said.
"We mainly just want people to come and have a good time."
The rugby club have many supporters, fans and sponsors, which was one of the reasons why the committee want to hold the ball as a way to say thanks.
"We've got members that have been a part of our club for so many years, we've got sponsors that continue to support us and get us through and our supporters follow us week in, week out," she explained.
Dress code is semi-formal and tickets are $110 per person. This is an 18+ event. For more visit 123tix.com
"It will be a nice event where we can all get together on a more social level, have some fun and do something different," Ms Lousick said.
There are just a few weeks left for people to purchase their tickets, which can be bought from 123tix.com.
The event is for tables of 10, but for those who don't think they can fill theirs need not worry as the committee will help.
"It's not like you need to get a group together in order to come," Ms Lousick said.
"We just want everyone to be a part of it. Whether they're a part of rugby or not, if you're new to town and wanting to meet people and mix with the community in a different setting then that's also an opportunity."
Proceeds form the event will go towards helping the Wellington Redbacks Rugby Club.
A small auction will be held on the night., There will also be a grazing table, cocktail hour and a sit down meals. Entertainment will be provided by Isaac Compton.
