Students from across the Bathurst Diocese converged on St Mary's Catholic School in Wellington earlier this month to take part in the annual Diocesan Spelling Bee.

Held over two days, the annual competition saw students in Years 3 to 10 spell out words of varying difficulty.
Words included mulch, landscape, antidote, encompass, particle, sprout and balance.
The 2019 Diocesan primary Stage two champions were Ella Wyke, Wellington, coming in second place was Emmett Hones from Holy Family Kelso.

Keerat Kalkat, St Joseph's, Oberon was awarded first place in the Stage three competition, with Marina Fernando from St Mary's Orange coming second.
In the secondary, Stage four competition Maggie Tolliday from MacKillop College, Bathurst came first with St John's College Jennifer Ibe, from Dubbo coming second.
The Secondary Stage five champion was Caleb Fardell from La Salle Academy in Lithgow and Susie Isaksen from St Matthew's, Mudgee was awarded second place.
