There was a "fantastic" turnout at the Dubbo Show, despite concerns the drought may prevent people from attending.

The 146th Dubbo Show ran from Friday to Sunday with all of the rides, food, entertainment and entries expected from the annual event.

Dubbo Show Society president Chris Edwards said it was a very successful show, with everyone from school children to elderly ladies with walkers finding something to enjoy.

Tyla Comerford was named as the 2019 Dubbo Showgirl, while runner up was awarded to Brandi McGuire.

The showgirl said she was excited to get involved.

Ms Comerford said she promised to do as much as she could for the community. She said it was especially important to create sustainable towns, especially the smaller ones, so people moved there rather than moving away.

The Dubbo Show Senior and Grand Champion Parader was awarded to Nathan Leach with Hollywood Neon Lights.

Mr Leach also prepared and paraded the Supreme Bull of Dubbo Show Hollywood Montoya M72.

Mr Edwards said he was happy with the number of attendees at this year's show, especially on Saturday.

"We thought the drought conditions might have affected us a bit bit it didn't appear to. It seems like people wanted to get out and enjoy themselves," he said.

While in the past the entertainment at the show has included the DMAX utes performing stunts, this year Mr Edwards said there was the Showtime FMX Team, which pitted motorbikes and utes against one another.

It was one of this favourite parts of the show, the president said, as well as the fireworks on Saturday night

Brophy's Circus was back, providing puppet shows, clowns and stilt walkers.

The Dubbo Show wrapped up on Sunday, but for Mr Edwards and the rest of the Dubbo Show Society committee, planning will already get underway for the 2020 Dubbo Show.

Mr Edwards said there were a lot of little things he would see at the show and make note of to improve the next year.

The show president said he wanted to thank the Dubbo Show Society Committee for the work they put into holding the show.
