The Wellington Show has come and gone for another year, with a bevy of winners and live entertainment helping to keep the showgrounds full for the duration of the day.

Newly minted MP for the state seat of Dubbo Dugald Saunders was on hand to open proceedings and give a speech at the start of the day.

"We had a couple of important people there which really heightens the profile of the show," Show Society Vice President Geena Purcell said.
"That was very well taken by the community and he was talking to be people and getting involved."

Meg Smith was selected as the 2019 Wellington Showgirl during proceedings and 2019 Sydney Royal Showgirl Stephanie Clancy was on hand to sash her and declare her the winner.
"The show this year was a great success, it was well supported by the community and entries to the events were quite full despite the conditions we've been facing," Ms Purcell said.
"Even the horses had a lot of entrants, and the sheep and the cattle got about the numbers we hoped for."
The event was capped off with an extravagant night time fireworks show.
