Caretaker Geert Woldhuis officially cut the ribbon on the brand new sporting area, with a pair of novelty scissors made by students and some sleight of hand.
"The original court was damaged, due to tree roots and things like that, there was an OH&S measure put on the court and the students weren't able to use it," Mr Woldhuis said.

"It got to the point where we had to apply and look for some sort of funding and arrange to re-build the court or put in something different and at that point it was decided to put in a 'multi-court' instead of just a basketball court."
The modifications will allow the basketball court to be quickly changed into either a volleyball, netball or tennis court depending on the school's needs.
While the court was undergoing renovations, St Mary's students were limited in how and where they could play and train for sporting competitions.
"They'd have to travel to Rygate before in order to use a proper court, now they can play here," Mr Woldhuis said.
The Parents and Friends association at St Mary's began raising money for the overhaul shortly after the decision was made to close the court down.
"They raised about $25,000 and the diocese put in about $87,000 dollars," Mr Woldhuis said.
Mr Woldhuis credited the Bathurst diocese's Gerry Lynch with helping the school put together a successful application for a funding grant.
Before the red ribbon was cut at the grand opening Fr Carl Mackander of the local parish blessed the grounds with holy water and prayed with the students and teachers.
Following the opening, students and teachers played an a modified rules game of Basketball on the new court.
