Samantha Bayliss, the centre's new supervisor, worked on the mid-north coast for three years before becoming a childcare centre's acting supervisor and then took up an offer to come and deliver the same programs in Wellington.
"I'm not familiar with the local area, but I kind of am now, having been here for a little while and N.K. has certainly done his research," Ms Bayliss said.
"There's really no before or after school care here, there's some family daycares that offer it, but they can only a certain amount of children and we can provide twenty spots a day."

Laugh Love Learn will also be able to provide a wider variety of hours than residents have previously received from childcare programs.
"It's offered from about 7am and then the bus comes to take them to school at about 8am - 8.30am," Ms Bayliss said.
"Obviously then they go to school and the bus brings them back at around 3.15pm and they can stay here until about 6pm."
The centre also plans to expand to include an educator on staff solely for the children using the after school care program.
"Once we have it up and running, we are going to have an educator solely for before and after school care, so they can implement programs and engage with what the children are interested in at the moment so that we can expand on their learning knowledge while they're here," Ms Bayliss said.
Despite the focus on education, Ms Bayliss says the aim is not to just be an extension of school.
"It's not so much running it as a school, or coming to school as such, we like to still have it as a homely environment, but we do like to involve the learning aspect."
