Peachey starred for the Indigenous outfit in a stunning 34-14 victory over the New Zealand Maori at Melbourne’s AAMI Park in their first appearance in the All Stars game.

The bringing together of both cultures in a rugby league celebration has been widely applauded and Peachey, who is a proud Wiradjuri man, says continuing to build on Friday night’s success should be at the forefront of any future planning at NRL headquarters.

“Let’s keep it around for the next couple of years, it’s an awesome concept,” Peachey told NRL.com in the sheds post game.

“It’s always a proud game, I’ve played in three now and it means a lot to me and the family.

“I’m happy to come away with the win and hopefully the game happens for next couple of years.”

Preston Campbell helped bring the concept to life in 2010 and he’s already called for the next All Stars match to be played in New Zealand to help celebrate Maori culture.

Peachey wasn’t the only Wellington representative on the field either, with Blake Ferguson and Kotoni Staggs in the Indigenous side as well.

While Josh Addo-Carr was a stand-out in the 20-point victory – his grandfather hails from Wellington.

Peachey picked up a cut on the back of his leg during the contest and now has five stitches up and down his calf, but it’s not expected to rule him out of any Gold Coast Titans trials.

His early combinations with the Titans players on show on Friday night, namely Preston Campbell medal winner Tyrone Roberts and hooker Nathan Peats, a bright spot for Gold Coast fans.
