Local cricket player Callee Black will represent Wellington as part of the Western Zone’s contingent of players fielded by Country Thunder in the Inaugural Cricket Carnival in Wellington.

Black will join Country Thunder for the two day U13’s Girls State Challenge being played across January 21 and 22 facing off with Country Sixes, Metro Thunder and Metro Sixes while attempting to secure a spot in the finals.

Her selection as one of four players from the Western Zone, along with Parke’s Maddison Spence and Grenfell’s Charlie and Taleitha O’Bryne, provides the cap-stone to an incredible season.
Black also captained the Wellington Public School team in their second year win at the NSW PSSA Lod Tavernors KO and co-captained the Western PSSA at the NSW PSSA Carnival where Western came in 4th.
Ms Black extended her thanks to staff at Woolworths and the wider Wellington community for their assistance and support.
Country Thunder’s first game of the carnival will be played at Bicentennial Park against Metro Thunder at 8:30am on Monday January 21.
