THE Castlereagh Highway will remain closed until around 4pm on Thursday, an alert from Mid Western Regional Council says.
The closure is due to an earlier truck accident which occurred late Wednesday evening.
“Detours are in place via Cope Road and Ulan Road. Council will advise when the road has reopened,” the council alert stated.

THE Castlereagh Highway remains closed on Thursday morning following an overnight truck accident.
The accident occurred around 9.49pm on Wednesday evening on the highway between Beryl Road and the Golden Highway, near Dunedoo.
Fairfax Media understands that no other vehicles were involved in this accident.
The Castlereagh Highway has since been closed in both directions with motorists advised that diversions are in in place.
Northbound motorists from Gulgong are advised to take Cope Road, Ulan Road and the Golden Highway. Southbound motorists should do the same in reverse.
This diversion is suitable for all vehicles and Live Traffic advises drivers to allow for one extra hour of travel time.
Castlereagh Highway will remain closed until later today so that infrastructure damage can be assessed.
