Kevin ‘Bloody’ Wilson is continuing his hilarious ‘Almost Awesome’ tour throughout the second half of 2018 and has just added a string of November dates, including a show at the Wellington Soldiers Memorial Club on Friday November 9.
Kev, who embodies the spirit of Australian humour is revered around the globe for his Aussie larrikin take on life.
He’s performed everywhere throughout his career, from outback pubs to the hallowed halls of the London Palladium, packing out houses wherever he goes.
An evening in the company of Kevin Bloody Wilson is jam-packed with entertainment.
When the Wellington Times spoke to Kev ahead of his upcoming Soldiers Memorial Club show, he said he was looking forward to coming back to the region, as the last time he’d been nearby was as long as five years ago.
Kev said he loves coming out to the bush and has a strong connection to it, as he originally comes from Kalgoorlie, in Western Australia.
“It’s way easier to recharge the batteries (by coming to the country),” he said.
“And the country is equally important as performing at the London Palladium.”
Kev originally performed his acts in pubs and clubs and said back then it was a lot of ‘blokey stuff’, but now he looks into the audience and sees half are women.
“Which took me by surprise,” Wilson said.
When asked what should Wellington audiences expect from the show, Kev replied in the only way he can; “They’ll get what they’re given.”
“I never know from night to night what is going in the show. A lot of ad-lib goes in, it just depends what is happening in the world between now and then.”
‘Almost Awesome’ will take Kevin all over New South Wales before he moves on for the next leg of the tour.
Kev’s local show will be held at the Wellington Soldiers Memorial Club, on Friday, November 9 at 8pm.
