Taking place from September 28, the idea for the challenge was inspired by the hit tv show Australian Ninja Warrior and will present children that want to compete, with a number of physical and acrobatic challenges to overcome.
The PCYC’s obstacle course was built using funds from the Stronger Community Program that were secured by Andrew Gee MP.
The course took $11,000 to complete and will have over 60 competitors from primary schools in the area using it on the day.
The PCYC is going all out to get kids onto the course.
“We’re running a bit of an outreach program to Geurie, sending a bus around to pick kids up and shuttle them to the PCYC here for the course,” Mr Devenish said.
The course involves climbing, swinging on monkey bars, acrobatics and other obstacles to challenge the children who try and conquer it over the holidays.
