Organisers expect a bigger return this year as volunteers have turned out in even bigger numbers to provide market stalls and fun events for people to participate in.
Chair of Springfest Emily Falson says the annual festival’s return is an opportunity to provide a low-cost, family friendly day out for locals and visitors.
“A lot of people work very hard. The services in town involve Quota, PCYC, Lions, everyone,” Mrs Falson said.
The community involvement never ceases to amaze me. That's what this is all about.

This year the event will involve the Infigen Parade walk, with over 50 entrants marching and providing floats, with everything from steam trains to classic cars and buddhists involved in the walk.
The parade will walk from the Caltex station, to Morne street and back again.
“The award for ‘best in show’ will be judged by a child volunteer, to avoid bias,” Mrs Falson said.
While the majority of Springfest’s events are on the Saturday, with the market stalls opening at 8am and the Infigen Parade beginning it’s walk at 10am, the Springfest weekend starts on Friday with the Quota Art Exhibition.
On Friday evening, at 7pm, the art exhibition will host it’s opening night, with entertainment provided by ‘G String Ukulele’ and complimentary champagne and refreshments will be provided with the $20 entry charge.
The art exhibition itself will be open across the weekend, according to Co-ordinator Marilyn Watts.
The exhibition itself will be open from 10 to 5 on Saturday and 10 to 3 on Sunday.
“There is an entry fee, five dollars for adults and two dollars for under fifteens, but we’ll be supporting the Wellington Public School breakfast club and the PAPA Aged care units,” Mrs Watts said.
“We like to make sure local people get the proceeds.”
Judging of the artwork will occur on Sunday, with awards handed out then.
