Schools Spectacular, 2018: Western NSW schools announced | Video, photos, pictures

THE curtain has gone up on Western NSW schools that will be represented in this year’s Schools Spectacular.

The annual event will be held in Sydney on November 23 and 24 and this year around 5000 public school students from across the state will take part.

The Western NSW students chosen to star in the entertainment extravaganza are from schools right across the region, including:

  • Denison College Bathurst High Campus

  • Eglinton Public
  • Forbes High
  • Glen Alice Public
  • Gulgong High
  • Holmwood Public
  • Lightning Ridge Central
  • Lithgow Public
  • Mudgee Public
  • Mulyan Public
  • Narromine High
  • Nyngan High
  • Orange High
  • Peak Hill Central
  • Trangie Central
  • Walgett Community College
  • Wellington High

Denison College Bathurst High Campus’ Bobbi Ralls will be in the heart of the singing as a member of the Core Choir.

While Lily Cole from the Bathurst campus and Tyson Rice-Bartle from the Kelso campus, along with Orange High School’s Paris Robinson and Cowra High’s Nicola Carter will be featured ensemble dancers.

Orange High’s Lachie Wheeler has also been named as a featured performer.

They will be joining more than 5000 stars, which includes: 40 featured performers, a 100-piece symphony orchestra, stage band, 2700-voice choir, 2300 dancers, the D’Arts Ensemble disability program, the Aboriginal Dance Company, puppets and an indispensable behind-the-scenes team.

Schools Spectacular creative director Sonja Sjolander said the contribution from students across Western NSW would help this year’s Schools Spectacular live up to its theme – The Greatest.

“Together as one we shine brighter,” she said.

“That is our greatest strength.”

This year’s Schools Spectacular will be staged at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney’s Olympic Park on Friday and Saturday, November 23 and 24.
