The barbecue, which was in aid of childhood cancer research, was held at the last Rotary Market.
More was raised at the event than last year, mainly due to the raffle of groceries and goodies donated by Woolworths, Coles and Lions members. Wellington Lions are still continuing the fund raising for the Cancer Research by collecting and cashing in cans and bottles from the Eisteddfod.
Thank you to the Eisteddfod committee for that opportunity.
Our next get together is the Wellington Lions 60th changeover at Hermitage Hill on August 27, with the guest speaker Andrew Gee. Anyone wishing to attended will need to call 6845 4319 for catering purposes.
There will be a $30 two course meal, a raffle and a door prize. All are welcome.
The next fundraising barbecue will be held at 12 Mile for the Extreme Sports Rock Climbing Weekend on August 25 and 26.
