Our boys put in an exceptional performance to come away with a 21 to seven victory which will see them head to Geurie on Saturday for what should be one of the biggest Grand Final days in recent memory.
Go the Redbacks.
Our 13s and 17s travelled to Forbes on Saturday while the 15s had a bye.
The 13s probably started short favourites in their match but with a couple of key players missing found the going a bit tough.
Forbes are below Wellington on the table but turned in a very stoic perfomance on their home turf.
A couple of early tries had the Redbacks rattled and they could not recompose themselves enough to get back in the game.
It was a very sombre mood in the dressing sheds after the game, the pain of a loss for a side that has got used to winning does not ease to soon but it is a pain that is better felt now then it would be in the finals.
Final Score Forbes 36 Wellington 12
Our under 17s although not winners put in a sensational performance considering they only had one reserve which meant our big guys had to churn out a lot of minutes which they did in fine style.
Forbes put a couple of tries on in the first half without reply from the Redbacks which gave them a 12 nil lead at the break. Wellington started to find a bit more belief in the second half and at times looked like they might turn the game but fatigue was setting in and it was to much to overcome.
The Magician Allan Riley scored a brilliant solo try late in the game to give the score a fairer indication of the quality of the game.
As i indicated all of the boys were brilliant but Nick Gluth and Kyle Forgione deserve special mention for their exceptional efforts. Final Score Forbes 17 Wellington seven.
This Saturday 13s and 17s verse Mudgee at Montefiores and the Red Boars play Mudgee in Parkes.

Soccer
his past weekend was meant to see the two women's team playing in Dubbo and the two men's playing in Wellington. However, the Wildcat girls did not have to take to the field to win there game as the opponents forfeited the game.
The Warrior girls took on the undefeated RSL in what was always going to be a very tough game and things only got harder five minutes in as RSL caught the girls napping to take an early lead.
However, the early goal saw the Wellington girls spring into life and led by their evergreen goalie Kayla Veech, the Wellington girls put on a clinical defensive effort to see the score remain 1-0 at the break.
For the first 15 minutes of the second half the girls continued to work stoically together in defence, but RSL have not got to the top of the table by being denied and over the next 30 minutes as the Wellington girls began to tire the RSL team began to break down the Wellington wall and eventually they were able to run out six nil winners.
This week's player of the match was Kayla Veech.
The men welcomed Macquarie who sit atop the table in both grades. The 2nd grade boys took to the field first looking to get a sneaky win over the top dogs.
Unfortunately, for the Wellington boys the game didn't start well as a communication mixed up saw Macquarie take the lead.
From the early lead Macquarie grew in strength and were able to score four first half goals whilst Wellington almost clawed one back but Josh Pearce saw his shot just glide over the bar.
The second half saw some changes in personnel and as such, regardless of the final result the game became the Pender show, as Sean in his final ever game, playing for the first time with his two sons was able to be smiled upon by the football gods as first his son Luke put Sean through a gap to score in his final game and then moments later.
Luke repeated the scenario except this time it was Michael running through to score a goal, unfortunately Luke was unable to get on the score board and there was no win for Wellington but it will certainly be a game that none of the Pender boys will ever forget.
In the end the final score was 7-2 to Macquarie. Man of the match went to the retiring Sean Pender.
It was now first grades time to take to the field and much like the Women they conceded an early goal which seemed to fire the boys up as they went on the attack and over the next 30 minutes they created several excellent opportunities.
However, the boys were unable to capitalise on their chances. Whilst at the other end Macquarie were as they took a 2 nil lead into the break.
After the break the game continued to ebb and flow but the same story continued as Wellington continued to be wasteful whilst Macquarie were clinical.
They took a three nil lead moments before the game took a nasty turn as Ben Turner was wrestling for the ball, both players fell to the ground and as Ben stood up the Macquarie player lashed out with his leg and in the process striking Ben.
The referee had no choice but to issue a straight red.
As the game entered into its final throes both teams created chances, but it was a good day for Macquarie as they ran out five nil winners in the end.
Man of the match went to Josh Pearce.

Racing
Local galloper Little Bertie started a pronounced favourite but still had the L plates on when scoring a remarkable win at Coonamble TAB meeting on Saturday.
When the leader kicked away halfway down the straight the chasing Little Bertie ( $ 1.55 favourite ) looked well beaten but switched to the inside by Tony Cavallo finished hard to beat Stomp ( Ashley Morgan, $6 ) by a half neck with over four lengths to third placed Alpine Royal ( Courtney Van Der Werf, $21 ) in the 1200 metres Coonamble Supa IGA Maiden Plate.
The now five year old Little Bertie had only raced once before, when a fast finishing second to Another McCloud at the recent Dubbo meeting.
The trainer Cec Hodgson and owner and breeder Stella Cleary conceded a lot of patience was required to finally get Little Bertie to the races but the effort looks like being worthwhile as the Coonamble win had plenty of merit.
Stella Cleary bred Little Bertie from Friends Venture which when a yearling filly had been won by Amelia Lundholm and Stella Cleary in a raffle conducted by the Wellington Race Club.
Friends Venture won at Coonamble but after a few more starts broke down and was retired to stud.
Runner-up at recent starts at Dubbo and Warren, the Leo Harland, Gilgandra trained The Iceman blitzed the opposition in the Gray’s Auto and A & HJ Wiatkowski Maiden Handicap ( 1400 metres ) at Coonamble.
Patiently ridden by Tony Cavallo near the back of the field,The Iceman ( $1.85 favourite ) when given more rein swept around the field and won by six lengths from Femtometre ( Jake Hull,$14 ) and Nothingbutadreamer ( Leanne .G.Henry, $4.40 ).
