The MHERV van, manned by registered nurse Rob Woolley, was parked near the Macquarie Regional Library on Tuesday and Wednesday, offering the service and he was pleased with the response.
On offer were a range of checks including blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar levels, body mass, urinalysis, obesity, serious skin issues as well as apparent depression.
Mr Woolley said most men were just passing by and took up the opportunity to have their vitals looked at.
It has been a similar story in most towns he has visited, with some men having been years since they last had a check up. Women were also welcome but it was men that needed a push to get checked, Mr Woolley said.
In total, the MHERV van will visit 29 towns in 14 weeks and will see close to 1300 men in that time.
The project is funded by the Freemasons but they were hopeful of securing government assistance.
