A house on Pierce Street was totally destroyed by fire over the weekend despite prompt efforts by local emergency services.
Fire & Rescue NSW Wellington crew received reports of the fire at approximately 3.40pm on Saturday.
Wellington station commander, Mark Moroney, said the Pierce Street residence was well involved with fire on arrival and was subsequently extinguished.
“The fire was at an advanced stage on our arrival and immediate actions were taken to protect adjoining properties and contain the fire,” he said.
“I understand the occupants weren’t at home at the time.”
Mr Moroney confirmed the house was completely destroyed and police investigations into the incident continue.
