Mayor of Dubbo Regional Council, Ben Shields, said the public can do so by attending services or activities throughout the region on Wednesday, April 25.
Mr Shields said that Anzac Day is one of the most important days on our national calendar.
“Anzac Day is a special occasion that is not only important for veterans and their families but for the whole community,” he said.
“I hope to see thousands of people attending the dawn service and the morning march and service to pay their respect to [Wellington’s] and Australia’s war heroes, veterans and current service men and women.
“There are a number of services being held around the region and I hope the community takes this opportunity to quietly reflect on those who served, and continue to serve, our great nation.”
The Wellington Sub-Branch Returned & Services League of Australia has a full program in place for Wellington which will feature special guest, Warrant Officer Cecil John Boshammer OAM.
