Seniors enjoyed a coach trip to Burrendong Dam, followed by a guided tour of the Burrendong Botanic Gardens and Arboretum on Saturday, April 14.
Senior Citizens committee member, Graham Dixon, said visiting the two local attractions was a no-brainer for organisers.
“A lot of our members hadn’t been there before and it’s not even half an hour up the road, so for senior citizens it was convenient and a very enjoyable day,” he said.
“We were shown places at the dam through a special guided tour that aren’t open to the general public, it was quite interesting.
“Fern Gully it’s such a rare garden and you won’t see that very often… it’s unique, it’s like an oasis.”
He thanked Water NSW maintenance officer, George Szpytko, for taking the time to conduct a private tour of the dam facilities and to the Arboretum ladies who put on a delicious lunch.
