Josie Clarke, Bridgette Carney, and Claudia and Sophie Whitman gained selection into the NSW Hornets Squads to trial for the Hornets team this weekend in Maitland. If selected they will play for Hornets at Junior Regionals in Sydney.
With finals starting this week, Alistaire Thompson has reminded players to compete in good spirits – a quality which has made the competition so successful to date.
The Wellington Touch Association’s mixed summer competition has approached the pointy end of the season as teams gear up to play finals footy.
Draw for Wednesday, February 28 at Rygate Park:

Field 2 – Bolos versus Pirates. Duty: Blues / Fast Eddie Owens
Field 3 – Morley’s Earthmoving versus Pups. Duty: Wolf Pack / Nanima Connection

Field 1 – Mean Machine versus Wellington High
Field 2 – Blues versus Fast Eddie Owens. Duty: Bolos / Pirates
Field 3 – Wolf Pack versus Nanima Connection. Duty: Morley’s Earthmoving / Pups
Final Ladder:
A Grade: 1. Mean Machine; 2. Wellington High; 3. Wolf Pack.
B Grade: 4. Blues; 5. Fast Eddie Owens; 6. Nanima Connection.
C Grade: 7. Bolos; 8. Pirates; 9. Morley’s Earthmoving; 10. Pups.
Finals - February 28: 1 versus 2 in all grades.
Finals - March 14: L versus 3 in all grades.
Grand Final - March 21: W in all grades.
The teams that finish first and second will play off to go straight through to the grand final.
The loser in week one will play off against third and the winner will meet week one’s winner in the grand final.
The aim at Wellington Touch Association is all about participation so everyone still has a game all the way through the finals. The Wellington Wolf Pack versus Nanima Connection is a participation game to keep everyone their having fun.
A reminder that March 7 will be a general bye due to National Touch League in Coffs Harbour.

SENIORS
After last week’s semi-finals Amaroo Peckers advance to the Grand Final and Amaroo Ducks take on the Farmers whist in the Consolation Series, Ballbusters play Federal.
Results:
Major Semi-Final – Peckers v Ducks
After a late start, this game was the closest of the day going down to the last ball where Ducks required 3runs to win. – sorry no scorebook details
Minor Semi-Final – Farmers were too good for Redferns chasing only 86runs to achieve victory.
This was a sad end to the season for Redfern’s as they were competition leaders until the last 2 weeks of the competition rounds.

Teams are reminded to please be early or on time to start your games.
Grand Finals and Presentation Day Saturday 10th March to be held at Pioneer with Presentation after the main game at 4pm. Saturday 17th is the backup Grand Final day if needed.
JUNIORS
12A’s are at the half way mark of their game against Cyms – no results to hand
12B’s no results from their game against RSL Colts, this week will be this teams final game against St Johns.
Milo/T20 Blast – has been cancelled today (Wednesday) due to coaches not being available but will be on again next week.
Presentation Day – Sunday 18th March 1pm at Wellington Pool
Hope to see every Junior player, parents and siblings in attendance, this also includes our Juniors who are in Dubbo teams 12s, 14s & 16s due to Wellington not fielding teams.
REPRESENTATIVE
Seniors – Captain Nic will be contacting everyone over the next week regarding training and squad for the upcoming Grand Final of the Maquarie Valley Cricket Council Brewery Shield Final which Wellington are hosting on the 11th March at Pioneer.
CHS Girls Carnival – at time of going to press no cricket had been played at Richmond due to the wet Sydney is experiencing.
BDDP top the points table
The Wellington Darts competition's major sponsor is now the Wellington Soldiers Memorial Club and many thanks to them.
An extra ordinary general meeting will be held on the 1st of March at 7.30pm at the Wellington Soldiers Memorial Club.
Round 3 match's saw Odd One's Out taking on the BDDP with both teams trying hard but they had to share the points with a draw. Doubles saw Cindy Croker- Warren Carey defeat David Wilson-Helen Jeffs 2-1 and Ian Humphreys-Ken Fairly defeated Kevin Baker-Dorren Saunders 1-2. Singles results saw a turn around with Warren Carey going down to Kevin Baker 2-0, Ken Fairly defeated Helen Jeffs 2-1, Cindy Croker lost to Carl Ludwig 2-0 and Robert Driscoll had his chances but lost to David Wilson 2-1.
Soldiers Club needing a win after last weeks loss were taking on Were Here who also needed a win but alas their efforts just fell short. Doubles saw Alfred Button-Teena Hill defeat Carolyn Stace-Tracey Reid 0-2 and Richard Kent-Vicki Button lost to Scott Reid-Peter Baker 1-2. Singles saw Vicki Button loose to Scott Reid 1-2, Alfred Button defeated Tracey Reid 0-2, Richard Kent defeated Carolyn Stace 2-0 and Teena Hill defeated Peter Baker 2-1 giving the Soldiers Club a 4 games to 2 victory.
Him"N"Hers were taking on the Sharkies who required a win to keep pace with the leaders even at this early stage. Doubles saw Alf Wilson-Zac West defeat Wendy Wilson-Jason Cornish 2-1 and Jason Robbins-Garth Watts defeated Kirsty and Hayley Watts 2-0. Singles saw Zac West defeat Wendy Wilson 2-1, Alf Wilson defeated Hayley Watts 2-0, Garth Watts defeated Jason Cornish 2-0 and Jason Robbins defeated Kirsty Watts 2-0. The Sharkies claimed the first clean sweep with a 6 games to nil win.

Dates have been set for the championships this year with the following, Mixed Doubles 11th if March, Ladies Doubles 15th if April, Mens Doubles 6th of May, Ladies Singles 24th of June, Men's Singles 29th of July, Double Start 5th of August, names in by 11.30 for a 12 start.
