Friday night saw the Ducks beat Redferns resulting in the Ducks becoming Minor Premiers and Redferns awaiting results of Peckers/Federal game to see where they finished. Peckers easily accounting for Federal which saw them jump to second position and Redferns drop to third. The final game between Farmers and Geurie was to decide who finished fourth. In a very close contest Farmers overcame the very spirited Geurie (who by their own words – have had one of their best seasons on and off the field as a Team) missing out to finish fifth.

JUNIORS: 12As – Had a good win four wickets for 231runs (Shep Taylor 37, Nat Bradford 33 ret, Amali McNeill 26 ret with openers Alex Morley 19no and Lachlan George 24ret) to Macquarie’s eight for 173 after their allotted overs with the George brother having a great game with the ball – Deacon 2wkts for 27runs and Lachlan two wickets for four runs.
They now play the top of the table clash over next two Saturdays against Cyms before the semi-finals. 12Bs lost to Cyms in a close game five for 131 to Wellington’s eight for 123 – no individual scores available. Saturday they play RSL White. No Balls in both games top scored – coaches will be busy this week addresses this again after having them reduced by at least half after the holiday break.

NEWS from WESTERN ZONE: The 2018-19 season, if enough interest, will see the introduction of a Western Zone u13s Inter-Town Sunday Competition. The Association is pretty sure with all our wonderful Juniors and parents Wellington will be able to field a team in this Competition. There is also a possibility Wellington will nominate a couple of players for an u19s Invitation Team for a four team carnival.
REPRESENTATIVE CRICKET: Wellington’s Senior Brewery Shield Team having the bye will await the outcome of Sunday’s games to see if they are to host the Grand Final on March 11. All the best to our Girls CHS players going to State Carnival next week.
