Around 25 people from Wellington and Dubbo attended the opening ceremony of the new hall, including Dubbo Regional Council deputy mayor, Anne Jones.
Following the official ceremony those who attended enjoyed an afternoon tea and were given the opportunity to see the finished product following two years of construction.
Choden Thubten of the Buddhist Centre said the hall will host its first event in March.
“It was nice to get the support of different members of the community,” she said. “Anne Jones said some nice things such as being a part of the community and so on.”
The centre will host a women’s healing day on March 10 to mark International Women’s Day between 1pm and 4.30pm.
