Members of the Stuart Town Anzac Day committee presented Wellington Legacy with a cheque for over $2000, raised through events and donations collected on Remembrance Day in Stuart Town.
Legacy secretary, Brett Tolhurst, said the funds will go toward assisting local war widows in making their lives more comfortable. He said it was a huge effort by the Stuart Town Anzac Day committee.
“Wellington Legacy is always trying to raise much-needed funds to support and assist our war widows lead a healthy and active life,” Brett said.
“Having Stuart Town put in such a huge effort to assist us is just wonderful. They have done an outstanding job and we are so grateful for their efforts and continued support.”
Brett said donations as such are vital in keeping the non-government funded organisation afloat, all of which will be spent locally across Yeoval, Stuart Town, Dripstone, Mumbil, Guerie and outlying areas.
