The club donated more than $60,000 to local groups over the 2016-17 financial year and on Monday formerly recognised the support through an afternoon tea and presentation at the venue.
Groups presented with cheques on the day were Maranartha House ($2500), Wellington Touch ($1000), Legacy ($1000) and Wellington Race Club ($330). Maranartha House CEO, Debra Wells, said the funds will be put toward redevelopments at the facility.
Club CEO, David French, said donations as such ensure the community is kept on the forefront in order to preserve the services available.
“Organisations like the PCYC, the Men’s Shed, events such as the eisteddfod – they’re great for the town and if we don’t support them we lose those services,” he said.
