Lions president, Chris Hardy, said the barbecue was well supported as locals and visitors called in to the stall set-up at the front of the old Western Stores.
Dubbo Regional Council administrator Michael Kneipp was among those to give a donation.
“Some out of town workers stopped by for a quick lunch which all added to the cause and kept us busy for a while,” Chris said.
“We had a good morning and are pleased with our efforts of the last two weeks, celebrating Lions International Centenary and fundraising for kids cancer.”
All funds raised will go toward the Australian Lions Childhood Cancer Research Foundation.
The club wishes to thank Josh at Central Butchery who donated sausages to the day, as well as Coles who donated bread and water.
“Also thank you to all who donated money and to all Lions who helped,” Chris said.
While the pace will slow down throughout July the Lions continue to make the call for new members.
The next meeting will be held on Monday, June 26 at the Grand Hotel. Guests are asked to arrive at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
The guest speaker for the evening will be Member for Calare, Andrew Gee.
All are welcome to attend the meeting, however numbers are limited so be sure to phone Chris on 6845 4319 or secretary Mike on 6845 4294.
