The 27-12 win was a credit to the Goats who bounced back from an early try by Coolah.
The Goats replied immediately with a show of brute force as Nela Matakaonga ran 40 metres bumping off several defenders to score. They increased their lead as Nela scored his second in similar fashion to his first.
Coolah retaliated behind a healthy penalty count evening up the score 12-all.
A classy backline move saw Moeakiola Amone score in the corner to give the goats a 17-12 lead come half time.
Second half was a scrappy affair, the Goats scoring two more tries through Siua Sinisa and Moe scoring his second.
Three points went to breakaway Chris Newberry who played strongly for 80 minutes, stealing Coolah’s ball with hard hitting defence and strong running. Geurie take on Wellington in Geurie this Saturday with a 2.30pm kick off.
