Dubbo Regional Council Manager Sporting Facilities, Wes Giddings, said resurfacing of the 25 metre pool will be completed in July.
“This work will include the removal of the current painted surface and tiling of the entire pool,” he said. “The project will cost about $120,000 and will be carried out by Statewide Pool Services.”
He said $40,000 was spent on a new chlorination system last year to bring the plant room up to standard.
“The money for the repairs was earmarked in the former Wellington Council’s budget and staff from the newly formed council have worked together to make the facilities safe for the communities,” he said.
“This work will be finished well before the summer season meaning the residents of Geurie will have a fantastic facility to use once the weather heats up.”
