As both a way to celebrate Wellington’s Bicentenary year and to reminisce over their school years, organiser Jennifer Wykes hopes to have a large gathering.
“At the moment we’ve about about 140 people saying their coming, and we’re hoping to be able to increase on that number so it’s a truly memorable weekend,” Ms Wykes said.
The High School opened in 1958 and students who attended between 1958 and 1975 have been invited to attend.
Current principal Rod Cosier will be unable to attend the Saturday night function, but will be guiding the group around the campus on Easter Sunday morning.
“We’ve had the Facebook group up for quite a while now, and it’s pretty active,” Ms Wykes said. “We would like people to RSVP soon. If people just show up without telling us, it can make it hard for catering numbers.”
