The forwards battled it out for the first 20 minutes without either team scoring.
The first points for the day came from a great backline move that enabled Nemani Ramoce to scoot down the side line and score. The Goats scored again through the backs as Moavuka Kavefiafi broke through the centres to score a run-away try and put the Goats in front 14-nil at half time.
That’s where the joy for the Goats ended as injuries to Max Edwards, Felisione Pauta and Villi Manu left Geurie with 12 players for most of the second half.
Molong were gifted the second half with possession keeping the Goats defending for the full 40 minutes. Possession and numbers were too great for the Goats to hold on as Molong evened up the scores 14-all with 10 to go.
Geurie missed three penalty opportunities in the last 10 but were unable to convert.
Great effort by the Goats as this was a game that Molong should have won, but the determination of Geurie was too strong keeping Molong to a draw with 12 men.
Geurie are at home on Saturday against Coonabarabran and will look to keep their unbeaten record completing the first round of the season.
