The two round 18 hole stroke event was hosted by the Wellington Golf Club over Thursday and Friday, attracting upward of 50 players from across the state. Among them were 14 competitors from Wellington.
The wins kept on coming for Wellington-based competitors as David French came out on top in Division C.
The B Grade winner was Tim Widdson of Tumbarumba, Callaway Division (non handicap) to Johann Mann of Port Macquarie, and Sharon Fuller of Tumbarumba took out the ladies division.
The tournament kicked off with a meet and greet on the Wednesday night among corrective services personnel and sponsors.
Committee member, Tim Parker, said the Wellington Golf Club was fortunate to secure the championships for 2017.
Parker said the mate ship displayed among competitors was a highlight of the championships.
A lot of players would love to come back next year but we can’t host it twice in a row. It’s one of the prettiest courses this side of the mountains.
