This reading loss accumulates to a crucial two year gap in reading by the time children leave primary school.

The Summer Reading Program is a fun way to promote the importance of literature outside of the school environment.

The program runs from December 1 to January 31, it is mainly aimed at infants and primary children, but is open to all children.

To join in the fun children need to visit the library from December 1 and collect their free starter pack.

The Library subscribes to a number of popular magazines and newspapers, so there’s sure to be one for every member of the family to enjoy: Koori Mail, Better Homes and Gardens, Men’s Fitness, Marie Claire, Organic Gardener, Mad Magazine and quite a few more, which are available for our customers to borrow on a seven day loan. The latest magazine is – Handmade - with an array of projects to do or learn, just in time for Christmas, patchwork, crochet, Christmas gifts and lots more in every issue.

Lego Club is on every Thursday between 3.30 and 4.30 and it’s free, come along and get creative.
