Staff held the event on Wednesday, November 15 to raise awareness about the role of physical activity as part of a management plan for the disease.
Participating community members walked along a marked lap through the park and covered a collective total distance of 133 kilometres during the three-hour event.
COPD is a long-term disease of the lungs which causes shortness of breath. COPD covers conditions such as emphysema, chronic bronchitis and chronic asthma which is irreversible.
Western NSW Local Health District would like to extend a special thank you to the students from Wellington Public School and their teachers who participated in the event and contributed to the total distance.
