JUNIOR CRICKET
The 12s have two teams in the Dubbo & District Junior Competition with a number of 14 and 16 years players playing in Dubbo Club sides. Their cricket season kicks off on Saturday with the 12s having some great parent helpers along with young Harry Broome who has put his hand up to coach one of the teams.
Parents – coaches will be in touch with you regarding teams your children are in and where you are playing this week. Please note if in 12As you will play “two day” cricket games and if in 12B’s you play “one day” games all on Saturday mornings starting 8.30am, so you will be required to be at grounds by 8am.
Milo T20/In2Cricket for the youngsters will commence on Wednesday, October 18 at Pioneer Park from 3.30pm until 5pm. This is open to any youngsters aged five to 11 years.
Representative Cricket
Congratulations to Bianca Douglas who last week played for the Western Zone Under 18s female team at the NSW Country Championships in Raymond Terrace, collecting a number of wickets and catches from the four games played over two days. Western came away with two losses and two wins.
Noah Brien competed for a Dubbo Under 14 team at the Max Shepherd Under 14 Carnival in Dubbo last week. This carnival ran over three days. Maybe next year Wellington could look at putting a team into this competition if there are enough keen parent helpers and players.
Lachlan George, Will Dimmick, Rusty Taylor and Shep Taylor attended the Macquarie Valley Cricket Council Under 12s trials on Sunday but due to the weather will be going again one afternoon this week. Parents will be advised by the organisers.
