On council’s voting day I was unfortunately in hospital.
After waiting for my voting papers a highly respected resident made inquiries as to when they were to be delivered. To my astonishment they were not going to be delivered at all!
Who made that decision?
To deprive a person or persons, in a democracy, of a vote, is an utter disgrace!

DEAR Editor,
We all know that social interactions with others are important for our health and survival. This is a key message of Mental Health Month, and a message that the Rotary Club of Wellington continually promotes in its activities and projects.
On Tuesday, October 10 Rotarians and communities across NSW will be hosting a ‘Hat Day’ event to raise money to fund research to help Australians affected by mental illnesses. ‘Hat Day’ is an opportunity for Rotarians and the public to wear a crazy hat and host an event to open up the discussion on mental health.
Businesses and groups will host a cake stall, car wash or sell sausage sandwiches to raise much-needed funds to help support research into mental health issues.
If you want more information, or would like to donate please visit www.hatday.com.au
Yours sincerely,
Helen Ryan, District 9670 Governor
