Wellington High School’s Kayne Staggs and Christina Cooper were both presented sportsmanship awards at the annual carnival run by NRL Western Development.
Twelve teams from around the Central West travelled to Wellington for the gala day. Division 1 was won by Dubbo College Delroy Campus, and runners-up were Canobolas Rural Technology School Orange. Second Division winners were Dubbo College Delroy Campus, and runners-up Dubbo Senior College. Third Division winners were Anson Street School Orange and runners-up Holman Place School Cowra.
NRL development officer, Alex Prout, said it is a great opportunity to get students out in the sun.
“They take a lot of pride in the game,” he said.
