Wellington High School is a small comprehensive high school which offers all that a major high school has for students in years 7 to 12.
“It’s very personal here at Wellington High School,” principal Rod Cosier said.
“Students get a lot of personal attention because our classes are not as large. Smaller class sizes results in a lower student to staff ratio, which means students get much more one-on-one teaching time.
“The parents really appreciate that their kids are all known, valued and cared for at our school.”

Mr Cosier said the school has “a long history of academic success and success in the sporting arena”.
“Our students always do very well in the Higher School Certificate, getting Band 6s on a regular basis. And we have a high percentage, 70-80 per cent, of students leaving to go straight into employment. A high number also go on to complete a tertiary qualification.”
With a rich tradition in sport, Wellington High continues to offer a wide range of sports for students to participate in – and produce their fair share of champions.
“Over the years our girls cricket teams have been regular state champions and our rugby league and touch football sides always do well.”
And, all students receive a great level of learning support, regardless of their academic ability.
“Wellington High School is a school on the move,” Mr Cosier said. “Our staff are dynamic and dedicated professionals who are constantly seeking improvement.”
