Students had excelled at the school’s athletics carnival earlier in the year to qualify them for the trials held at Barden Park, Dubbo.
Students Tristtan Thompson and Jake Veech were successful in qualifying for the WSSA athletics team to compete at the Combined High Schools (CHS) Athletics Championships at Homebush over September 6 and 8. Tristtan will represent WSSA in the boys 16 years 100m and Jake in the boys 15 years Triple Jump.
Wellington High wish the boys all the luck at the championships in September and encourage them to train hard. The school also wishes to acknowledge the efforts of several other students who despite a huge effort didn’t to progress from the trials.
“All students were excellent representatives and participated and competed with great sportsmanship,” PDHPE teacher Hayley Lyons said.
