That’s what Macquarie Raiders co-coach Zac Rennick said of a place in the top after last weekend’s loss to Dubbo CYMS.
His side still clings to fifth spot and the next three weeks will decide if his side stays there and plays Group 11 finals football or if the men in sky blue will be celebrating mad Monday early.
While this weekend’s match against Westside may seem like the perfect chance to score a morale-boosting win over a team which hasn’t won all year, Rennick and his fellow co-coach, Steve McLellan, will be well aware the Rabbitohs can not be underestimated.
Coming off a best performance of the season and celebrating a NAIDOC Community Carnival on Sunday, motivation is sure to be high in the Rabbitohs camp while the Raiders come into the match on the back of a 14-4 loss to CYMS.
The Raiders showed plenty of promise last week and pushed the Fishies more than most sides have this year.
Rennick and his side is aware a similar performance this week, and in the final two rounds, should be enough to ensure a top five finish but consistency has been an issue in 2017.
Last weekend the side took a huge step towards producing a full 80 minute performance and that delighted Rennick but he was well aware effort needs to start resulting in points.
Josh Merritt will again be key in the halves on Sunday as the Raiders look to really discover their attacking spark while Matt Lane has proved a consistent performer at hooker this season.
The forwards have provided plenty of punch and the likes of Rennick, Eroni Turaga and hulking prop Kepu Nathan will again be tasked with setting the platform.
League starts the day’s action at 10am on Sunday.
