Sunday’s action at No. 1 Oval has plenty of meaning to the Westside club but for the Rabbitohs first grade team it is also an opportunity to score the first win of the season.

Despite some late indiscretions, last weekend’s effort against Parkes was the best Westside had produced all season. The defeat was a bitter pill to swallow after the men in red and green led by eight points with 25 minutes to go.
This weekend Col Fuller’s team meets a Raiders outfit clinging on to fifth spot on the Group 11 ladder.
Westside committee members Max Hill and Chad Parkes said it was pleasing to see the side work harder and improve as the season has gone on, with a victory the only box left to tick.
“It might not be this year or next but things are starting to build,” Parkes said.
“It all ties in with what we’re doing this weekend, it’s got to do with responsibility.
“Responsibility within the community and the club with things like dedication and that’s something that’s probably been missing at the club but that’s changing.”
Playing for the full 80 minutes will be the goal for Westside on Sunday but it has proven difficult due to the fact many players are forced to play both reserves and first grade.
Parkes added having service providers and organisations on offer could benefit the club, with the option to link up with the Rabbitohs, possibly in terms of sponsorship, helping ensure success in the future.
