Ten community groups from Wellington and surrounding towns received a share in more than $330,000 worth of grants at the Dubbo Regional Council’s ordinary council meeting on Monday.

The council resolution formalised funding from Round 2 of the Stronger Communities Fund Community Grants program which saw $138,936.31 allocated to groups across Wellington, Stuart Town, Wongarbon and Mumbil.
Among those to receive funding were Wellington Connect Inc $20,778.45, Wellington Rugby Union Club/Wellington Rugby League Club $22,600, Wellington Uniting Church $5000, Mt Arthur Reserve Trust $2217.60, Binjang Community Radio $14,822.50 and Wellington Junior Soccer Club $5,017.76. Stuart Town Advancement Association received $17,650, Wongarbon CWA $5850 and Mumbil District Progress Association $50,000.
Administrator Michael Kneipp said he was very impressed with the high quality of the applications.
