Eighteen bowlers took to the Greens in last Wednesday Jackpot Bowls in more pleasant weather. Winners on the day were Garth Watts (better than Golf) and Dave Stace who defeated Don Graham & Jack Charlton. Runners up were Mick Buttsworth, Jason Cornish & Kevin Stanley who defeated Charlie Morley, John Gersbach & Terry Dray. Other results were Ray Gersbach & Trevor Elemes defeated Glen Porter & Bill Meharg, Ross Pharo & Jason Robbins drew with Mo Clare & Ron Oxenham.
The jackpot was not won and Garth Watts won the raffle.
Jackpot bowls are on again today (Wednesday) names in by 1.00pm for 1.30pm start.
Our Grade 7 Lucky Number last Thursday was 38 – Ray Gersbach.
Our sympathy is extended to our president Kevin on the passing of his mother last week.
Best wishes go to Frank Gersbach who has not been well and it is good to see Allan Manning back at the club as a supporter.
Fourteen Members participated in the John Dewer Memorial Day at Geurie last Saturday with Ross Pharo, Ron Oxenham & Tracker Elemes taking out the runners-up trophy.

LADIES
Welcome back to the ladies’ golf news after a few week’s break.
In that time there has been the ladies’ championships, a 27 hole competition and then the Women’s Golf NSW Spoon and 4th Lousick and Cornish/Hollow events.
Congratulations to Denise Haesler on becoming the club’s 2017 champion during the four rounds of Wednesday golf held during June.
After four interesting rounds, Denise beat Marie Cornish by one shot.
The rounds started with Marie up by 4, Denise up by 4 with Denise going into the final round 2 shots up.
Whist in Division 2, Carmel Cohen came home strongly over the final two rounds from Ronda Payne, Cheryl Royal and Gae Drew.
Their four rounds saw Ronda leading by 4 shots, than 2 shots, with Carmel and Gae equal leaders after the third round.

Division 1 Handicap - Marie, Runner-up – Min Burge on c/b
2nd Division 2 Scratch – Carmel, Runner-up – Gae

Denise won from Marg Macarthur with 35 and 34points respectively.

2017 Rose Bowl Weekend of Events at Nyngan
Jan Payne, Gae Drew, Cheryl Royal, Pauline Potts, Denise Haesler and Sue Martin represented the Club at this year’s event where 70odd players participated.
Cheryl returned home with the Division 2 Scratch Winners Trophy and Sue with Division 3 Handicap and Nearest the Pin awards.
Well done girls and no doubt you had a great time.
SUNDAY ”JACKPOT” GOLF commencing July 23
The Golf Club has introduced a Sunday “Jackpot Golf” Competition to be held every Sunday for any level of golfer from beginner to serious.
$15 Adults and $10 Juniors will get you 9 Holes plus 5 balls and use of 2 Club Sticks (a must in Rules) to have a Shot at “a Bulleyes” Target Hole.
The Target Jackpot has opened with a $200 Voucher and will Jackpot each week until a result is achieved – the Jackpot amount will be decided by the number who play.
All Rules are on display at the Club and must be adhered too, also note:- “only the first person to achieve on any Sunday is the winner, then will restart again the following week”.
2017 Bicentennial Year Celebrations
Don’t forget to circle Saturday August 19 on your calendar for Wellington’s Main Day of “Celebrating John Oxley’s” arrival in the Valley and naming the Town to be held in our beautiful Cameron Park (Showground if wet) with the theme celebrating “its past, its present and its future”.
Many celebrations have already taken place to date with lots more happening not just on the day but nearly every month, one or two great events are being held.
A flyer with events for the week leading upto and including this “main weekend” will soon be mailed out to all households within the old Wellington Council area – so place this on the fridge for quick reference.

This Friday The Red Cross are holding a “Remember when ...” themed Luncheon at the Golf Club, late tickets can be purchased from any Member of Red Cross or from Ang & Co’s Shop (located next to Coles walk way – Taylors old building).
If the forecast weather is correct for today, no doubt many are reading this week’s paper in bed keeping warm and not out on the course.
