Geurie Goats were hot favourites heading into Round 13 against Charles Sturt Orange, and they made it clear they mean business in the GrainCorp Cup Northern Division.

Geurie piled 66 points on their opposition in the home-round match to which Orange replied with eight points.
President Matt Dowell said the Goats were “Black Caviar odds” to win the game. The club now sits second on the ladder behind undefeated Narromine.
Aggies were up for the challenge early as both sides started strongly with possession evenly contested.
Geurie took advantage of an early break from half Hugh Edwards, with Nash Forgione sending Harry May over for the opening try.
Dominate running from the back of a powerful scrum saw Central West number 8 Nela Matakaiongo score the first of his three tries for the afternoon.
Geurie’s other Central West representative, Moavuka Kavaefiafi, combined well again with centre partner Nash Forgione both scoring tries.
Momentum continued with the Goats for much of the first half as prop Siua Sinisa was hard to stop scoring the last try of the first half.
Aggies worked hard from the kickoff pinning the Goats in their half, winning a penalty from the ruck and scoring their first points via a penalty goal.

Second half started well for the goats who dominated possession for the first 20 minutes, pushing through the Aggies defence. Holes started opening allowing props Siua and Simon McGrath to charge through to score setting the afternoon up for a dominate win.
Tries continued for the Goats through fullback Jake Sykes and centre Moa pushing the score out to 66 -3.
Credit to the Aggies, who have struggled this year with player numbers rallied late scoring their only try of the game.

Geurie travel to Yeoval this week to play for the annual Sam Chandler Cup. The next home game is Saturday, July 29 against Wellington Redbacks. It doubles as the Club’s Ladies and Sponsors day.
“We have three hard weeks coming up,” Dowell said. “We can’t afford to drop a game.”
He said the Goats’ main opposition at the moment is Narromine who have dropped back from the Blowes Cup this season.
“Narromine are undefeated at the moment, they are without a doubt the best team that has probably played in GrainCorp Cup,” Dowell said.
“They’ve beat us twice but we’ll have to play at our best to be able to beat them this year.”
