A man from Bathurst has received a hefty fine and had his licence suspended after being caught driving 55km/h over the speed limit this morning.

About 6.50am today, Wednesday, June 28 Orana Highway Patrol were conducting speed enforcement on the Goolma Road, Wellington.
This is area is a 100km/h signposted speed limit area.
Police observed a vehicle travelling well above the speed limit as it overtook another vehicle travelling east.
A check was conducted on Lidar detecting the vehicle accelerating up to 155km/h.
The Bathurst male driver was stopped a short time later and was issued an over 45km/h infringement ($2350) carrying six demerit points.
His drivers license was suspended for six months.
