The Wellington Warriors’ women’s division were out to set the record straight as they took on the equal first SDW for the second time this season.

Last time the two sides met SDW taught the Warriors a lesson in physical football, however Wellington were looking for revenge from the onset to run out eventual winners 7-1.
Wellington used their numerical superiority to their advantage as they strung passes together to stretch the SDW defence in excellent wing play.
It wasn’t long before the Warriors jumped to a 1-nil lead after some nice passing down the left flank saw Carla Rayson break free and slot one away near the post. Chown sisters Kelly and Kahla extended the lead before SDW got back in the game, 3-1 at the break.
Wellington put away another four goals to ensured a comfortable victory.
The Warriors take on joint leaders DCR in Dubbo from 9am on Sunday.
In the men’s division the Warriors headed to Dubbo to take on Westside. It was a physical affair as the Warriors rode rough tactics to settle into an early match dominance. A headed goal from Nick Streicher put Wellington in the lead.
The remainder of first half was an arm wrestle until Westside locked the score.
A defensive slip early in second half saw Westside score of a spot penalty. Despite several attempts the Warriors weren’t able to out-do their opponents with the final score settling at 3-1.
The boys take on RSL78s at home this week, kick-off at 11am.
The Wildcats had a 2-all draw with RSL78s.
