Dubbo Westside went within moments of recording a breakthrough win for the 2017 season last weekend but instead it now sits alone at the foot of the ladder and facing a daunting trip to Nyngan’s Larkin Oval.

The road trip to Nyngan is one of the most difficult in the competition with the Tigers already accounting for premiership contenders Parkes Spacemen and Forbes Magpies at a raucous Larkin Oval already this season.
The Rabbitohs seemed destined to win last weekend only for the Narromine Jets to come storming back into the contest at Caltex Park late and a Corey Cox penalty after the full time siren broke the hearts of the Westside faithful.
One positive for the Rabbitohs this week is the fact interim coach Col Fuller has been able to name virtually the same side as last week, something the club has struggled to do in recent times.
Some consistency and combinations is starting to appear within the ranks of the men in red and green and Fuller will be hopeful of causing an almighty upset on Sunday.
Youngster Steve Merritt has again been named at five-eighth while much of the threat for Westside is in the backline.
Sam Coe has slotted into fullback seamlessly since returning to the club while his brother Joseph impressed on debut against Narromine after starting the season with the Forbes Magpies.
Anthony Toomey is another who has caught the eye since linking up with the side.
For Nyngan, captain-coach Stewart Mills has made one big chance with former Western Rams hooker Reece Goldsmith set to start off the bench.
The diminutive James Fisk has been named to start in the number nine jersey while barnstorming centre Jone Yacadrau will miss the match.
Mills will again start in the second row and will be keen for a much better performance than the one his side produced last week when a stack of errors and some ill-discipline cost his team in a 40-16 loss to CYMS.
The Group 11 fixtures at Larkin Oval on Sunday start with the League Tag clash between the Tigresses and Bunnies at 11am.
